Here are some other frequently asked questions

Enjoy perusing the FAQs below for more information about Telunas Resorts.

Perusing

What is the weather like?
Given our proximity to the equator, the weather tends to stay between an average of 23 – 32 degrees Celsius (75-88 degrees Fahrenheit) year round. Although we tend to get a little more rain in May-June, we generally don’t experience a regular monsoon season.
What is the best month to visit?
October to April tends to bring our best weather, with December-February being our clearest water months. For Telunas Beach Resort, June-August bring the strong south winds which stir the ocean up (making the water more opaque) but also keep our summers cooler than Singapore. Telunas Private Island is not impacted by the south winds as the main property faces south (vs. being in a cove).
Can I stay for one night only?
Telunas Resorts has a two-night minimum stay policy in order to ensure the best Telunas experience possible. Considering the location of Telunas and the transit required, our guests repeatedly tell us that one night is not quite long enough. They indicate that a 2-4 night stay is ideal, with some lingering as long as a week.
Can I stay at both the Private Island and Beach Resort?
Yes! We just require a 3 night minimum stay for staying at both properties. For example, you could stay 1 night at Telunas Beach Resort followed by 2 nights at Telunas Private Island. 2 nights must be consecutively at the same property.

Can you manage dietary concerns?
We’re pleased to be able accommodate many dietary concerns at both of our properties, including those requiring gluten free, vegetarian, and other special diets. Our kitchen staff also meet all halal requirements.  Please mention your dietary needs in the booking notes of your reservation and our Reservations staff will follow-up with you.
Do infants 4 years old stay for free?
Telunas Resorts invites families to bring their infants (under 5 years old during the time of their stay) along free of charge.  All children 5-17 years old are charged the same child rate.  This is a small concrete way Telunas Resorts helps celebrate families.
Is there really no Wi-Fi available?
Telunas Resorts intentionally does not offer Wi-Fi at either of our locations. One of our unique distinctives is that we work hard to provide our guests with is a temporary refuge from the hectic, incessant, over-plugged cadence of life today. Most guests who need to be connected on-line purchase Telkomsel Simpati SIM cards (at Sekupang International Ferry Terminal or Telunas Resorts) or use their own personal phones internet plans as needed.
Can I use the Private Island facilities but stay at the Beach Resort?
Telunas Private Island and its facilities are exclusively available to guests of the Private Island. This includes Telunas Spa, the freshwater infinity pool, poolside “Sand Bar,” kids’ club, and Private Island meeting room.
What happens if I get hurt?
We have had specific staff trained by the National Outdoor Leadership School as wilderness first responders who will be able to identify and assist with urgent needs. The nearest clinic is about 20 minutes from Telunas Resorts but for major needs, we will help you get to either Batam or Singapore for a full service hospital. We are also a member of International SOS which provides 24/7 dedicated medical advice, assistance, and referrals for our guests.

Planning

What is the check-in/check-out time?
Check-in time is 2PM and check-out time is 9AM (unless you have requested late departure) so that our housekeeping team can prepare the room for our next guests.  Although guest bills are settled prior to 9AM, those who have secured “late departure” are welcome to stay in their rooms until 11AM and then in the public areas until their 2PM departure time.
What payment methods do you receive?

In accordance with Indonesian law, all payments will be converted to Indonesian Rupiah (IDR). All payments made by credit card will be converted to IDR according to the weekly rate published each Wednesday by the Indonesian Ministry of Finance plus 1.75% for currency variance. All payments made on site will be converted at the prevailing/posted rate at the resort.
Is there an earlier ferry from Singapore?
Due to the remoteness of our location and the regular stream of international guests, we have found it necessary to streamline the times of our Telunas Resorts domestic transport boat to the schedule noted here.
Can I charter (or bring my own) yacht to get to Telunas?
Yes. but we are unable to arrange this for you. You will need to clear immigration in Nongsa Point, Batam which can take several hours if sailing from Singapore. Please email us for more information.
